FLOP scam alert: the Solana 'Flop Labs' token isn't official

A token on Solana named "Flop Labs" with the ticker FLOP is being promoted on X as if it were the Flop Network airdrop. It isn't. Flop Labs has said it sells no tokens, and the real FLOP doesn't exist yet: it is created at genesis on Flop's own blockchain, which the project targets for Q1 2027. If you're farming the FLOP airdrop, this token has nothing to do with it.

What is being promoted?

DexScreener lists a Solana token with the name "Flop Labs", the symbol FLOP and the contract address:

It trades on PumpSwap, and DexScreener shows its trading pair was created on August 22, 2026 (UTC).

Since October 14, several X accounts have posted near-identical messages calling it the "Flop Labs airdrop" and a "Solana memecoin", each with the same contract address (example, another example). Earlier in October, replies under posts that tag @flop_labs cited the same address as an "airdrop" wallet or as tied to Flop's agent IDs (example). We found no post from @flop_labs that mentions Solana, this address or any token you can buy today.

Why it can't be the real FLOP

The official documents rule it out on several counts:

• Flop Labs doesn't sell FLOP. After the Singapore launch, the team wrote: "Nobody can buy $ FLOP from us. Mine it or buy it from someone who did." Its tokenomics post says "no VC allocation, no presale, every token is earned." The whitepaper says "There is no token sale and no investor allocation."
• FLOP lives on its own chain, not Solana. The whitepaper describes the Flop Network as "its own Layer 1 blockchain, built on the Substrate framework", with a wallet that "is not EVM-compatible". It adds that "the network does not build bridges".
• The token doesn't exist before genesis. The airdrop page says the genesis supply of 4,400,000,000 FLOP is earned on the testnet and distributed at genesis in Q1 2027. It's written into each participant's own account, and "there is no claim window and no deadline."
• The testnet hasn't opened. The testnet page still lists its status as "Draft", opening in Q4 2026. Our testnet guide tracks the date.

@CryptoHayes set it for 9am on a Tuesday of Token2049 week so only people serious about building would come. They came and grilled us on validator specs and whether a gaming GPU can mine.

Testnet opens late Oct or early Nov for about 90 days. Mainnet Q1 2027.

A quarter of the 10-year supply goes to testnet participants.

Top 1,000 testnet validators get their stake covered.

What should you do?

• Don't buy it expecting a Flop airdrop or allocation. Under the published rules, holding any token earns nothing. The airdrop goes only to verified testnet work by miners, validators and agents.
• Don't send funds to an "airdrop wallet address", and don't paste a token address into an agent ID or "DID proof" because a reply told you to.
